Maine Disaster Behavioral Health Volunteers, Maine Responds Volunteers, and Maine CDC staff are able to attend at no charge. As we navigate the second year of the global pandemic and continue to deal with emerging public health threats, everyone continues to grapple with a complex and ever-changing combination of acute and chronic stressors. All of this can take a toll on our ability to function professionally as well as impacting our personal mental health. Where Psychological First Aid focuses on helping others, Personal Resilience and Stress Inoculation focuses on building your own coping capacity. After an overview on how stress impact brain functioning, this training will take an applied focus on understanding how to manage stress, with an emphasis on building and maintain resilience through cognitive approaches including stress inoculation.
